More employees, more document management needs

A new survey of more than 4,000 professionals and executives across Australia has shown that many businesses will be aiming to expand their staffing numbers over the next 12 months.

According to the Employment Expectation 2012 report published by Hudson recruitment, 35.9 per cent of firms are planning to actively implement new permanent positions within the next three months.

While some of the sectors have shown noted spikes in recruitment needs - especially those involved in mining and resources - there has been a positive result recorded in every industry covered by the survey.

Speaking on the results relayed by the report, the chief financial officer for Hudson Asia Pacific Mark Leigh asserted: "Despite the current international uncertainty, and changing conditions at home, employment expectations in Australia on the whole remain positive, particularly in the resources, transport and construction and engineering sectors."

For many companies, the increase in employee numbers is in response to a positive outlook in the medium term - with improved economic circumstances leading to a growth in business opportunities.

However, a combination of rising workloads and new staff members means that information managers may do well to investigate the capabilities of a document management service.
