Ombudsman launches investigation into real estate commissions
A new investigation by Fair Work NSW is set to target the book-keeping practices of real estate agencies across the state.
Officials have been sent out to 350 firms to review their payroll accounts, responding to comments from key industry stakeholders that some employers may not be complying with their commissions' obligations.
The Fair Work website has a number of tools available online that can assist managers in accurately calculating the various amounts owed to their staff members.
Ombudsman Nicholas Wilson asserted: "A key focus of the campaign is making employers aware of the free resources available to assist them to understand and comply with workplace laws.
"The campaign will also benefit employers who are complying with workplace laws because our auditing of compliance with minimum pay rates will help to ensure businesses are competing on a level playing field."
With the number of sales and lease certificates generated by some firms it can be difficult to keep track of the physical files.
Document management solutions can assist these firms by keeping their paper trails in order - allowing official to gain access to the information they need at short notice.
In turn this enables an audit to proceed in an efficient manner, disrupting a business a little as possible.
